Pre-Print Checklist
Before sending us your files, follow these key setup guidelines:Accepted File Types● Preferred: PDF (industry standard)● Also accepted: AI, PSD, INDD, CDR, among othersBleed, Margins, and Trim● Bleed: Extend artwork at least 3mm (⅛ inch) beyond the trim line● Safe Zone: Keep key text/logos at least 5–10mm away from edges, depending on project size● Trim Line: Ensure visible markers align with the final cutInside Margins (Gutter)● Saddle stitch, perfect bound, hardcover → 10mm minimum● Spiral/Wire-O → 12mm minimum
Colors – CMYK vs RGB
● Text elementFiles must be in CMYK for accurate print● RGB colours (what you see on screen) look brighter but won’t match in print
Image Quality
All images should be at least 300 DPI to avoid blurriness or pixelation
Fonts
Convert all fonts to outlines or embed them to prevent substitutions
Special Finishes (Foil, Spot UV, Embossing, etc.)
● Create separate layers/files clearly labeled for each finish● Example: export one PDF for artwork, another for foil placement
